Pirate Puppeto

Our good friend Dr. Bob will be back and joined by The Reverend Eddie Dangers new band Canon-Ball they will present a puppet musical extravaganza not to be missed.  Pirate songs and puppets what could be better.

Colin O’Brein

Colin will joining us again this year to provide some kids tunes as well as some  good old foot stomping John Hartford inspired love.  He was a big hit last year for young and old a like.

Welcome

For thousands of years the area around Prairie Island Park has been a gathering ground for all types of creatures.  Black Bird Slough where we take are paddling adventures was a village for many of the first people to call this area home.  We would like to continue this tradition by welcoming you and your family for a weekend of reconnecting, relaxing and a little recreation. 

National Eagle Center


The National Eagle Center based in Wabasha Minnesota will be bringing out one of their Eagles and doing some presentations during the day with the Eagle.  Get up close to our nations bird.  The Eagle Center Staff will be able to answer any questions you may have as well.

Al Batt

Al Batt of rural Hartland, Minnesota is a writer, speaker, storyteller and humorist. Al, who was born and raised on a farm near Hartland, lives in the Batt Cave with his wife Gail. Al writes three weekly humor and nature columns for many newspapers, and does a regular radio show about nature on a number of radio stations. He writes a number of popular cartoon strips that are syndicated nationally and has written jokes for a former President of the United States.

Science Projects

Water rockets, bubbles and much more.  Join the best science teacher in Minnesota for some real hands on science projects. 

Canoe Trips

Starting Saturday morning we will be taking guided canoe trips into the backwaters of the Mississippi River.  Explore the wonders of Black Bird Slough as the thousands of migratory birds are on their way south.  We have quite a few child size jackets but please feel free to bring your own if you have one.

Nature Walk/Deer Park

There are trails to explore right at the festival site and a short walk will take you to the Prairie Island deer park.  See deer and wild turkeys play together in this natural setting.

Hula Looping

Join Sequoia for what she likes to call Hula Looping.  We will have some loops on hand for you to test your skills.  Don’t be shy.
