Dharma River Offerings
River Meditation
Join Trish Johnson for an hour of guided meditation practices near the banks of the beautiful Mississippi River. This will include simple practices to support overall emotional balance and wellbeing, relaxation and practices of gratitude. This session can be a great way to reset before enjoying more of the wonderful festival. Kids under 12 years must attend with an accompanying adult. Please bring something to sit on.

Forest Meditation
Join Trish Johnson for an hour of meditation practices and nature-based creativity in the forest. This session can help reset the nervous system, engage the senses and inspire connection and creativity with the natural world. Kids under 12 years must attend with an accompanying adult. Meet in the parking lot by the Deer Park. This session includes walking on trails. Please bring something small to sit on (optional).

Tai Chi for Everyone
Join Paul Stern for 1 hour of Tai Chi fun! Tai Chi is a movement, meditation, and embodiment practice to help balance one’s mind, body, and spirit. This session can be a great way to start the day before more fun B&B festivities! Accessible to all ages and abilities. Kids under 12 years must attend with an accompanying adult. Dress comfortably.

Join Paul Stern for 1 hour of Kung fu for all. This session is designed to be fun and open and stretch the body as well as condition the muscles, bones, and cardiovascular system before returning for more dancing and festivities! Learn how to identify the little macroinvertebrates we scoop in the shallows of the river. Sort, count, and look more closely at them under the microscope, then make a button of your favorite critter!

Family Nature Journaling and Scavenger Hunt
We’ll assemble and personalize covers of our own Nature Journals, go for a stroll and observe more deeply the animals, plants, insects, and weather that we encounter. We will return to the patio to add more detail to our discoveries with pencils, water colors, and more!

Family Pollinator & Plant Bioblitz!
Join a small group of naturalists in hiking to gather photographs of plants, insects, and animals that can be found in the Mississippi River Valley habitats of floodplain forest, sand prairie, and gravel terrace parklands. Images will contribute to important gathering of scientific data.
Recommend loading the iSeek and iNaturalist apps ahead of time.
Saturday morning: pick a time for a 45 minute hike 10:30, 11:30, or 12:30.

Kids Fishing and Family Fish Printing
Learn about the different types of fish that can be found in the Mississippi River and its tributaries through fish printing and fishing. We’ll be practicing catch & release only.
