General Admission Camping is free with the purchase of an all weekend pass (Thursday 1:00 PM to Sunday at 1:00 PM).  Camping is located a short walk (50 feet at its closest) from the festival grounds.  These non-electric sites will accommodate any tent or vehicle under 24’. If you are planning on bringing an RV over 24’, you will need to reserve space in advance. If you are planning a Wednesday arrival please purchase a Wednesday camping pass.

Remember…you are allowed to bring your own above ground fire pit or use the ones provided on site, but please be respectful of this space and clean things up once your headed out.

Reserved Camping

Folks with RV Models (Campers, Vans, and Buses) over 24ft in length will reserve a site in one of the 3 RV camping areas within Prairie Island Park. The main general admission camping area within the campground is available for festival ticket holders who camp in tents, vehicles, and RVs under 24ft in length. This will guarantee more room for tent campers, quieter spaces for families, and safe & secure sites for RV campers. No need to rush and fight for the perfect spot!

general admission

The General Admission Campground is the largest area. Late night campers need to be respectful about volume, but playing acoustic instruments is permitted and encouraged. There are hundreds of trees there, and shade is not hard to come by.  This campground is nearest to the flushing toilets and showers.  There is a kids playground, and general store as well.

The west side (bottom of graphic) of General Admission camping is family camp and has a 10:00 PM curfew. The east side (top of graphic) has no curfew and is available to those that wish to play tunes around the campfire through the night.

Reserved Water & electric

These campsites have electric and water hookups, great views and come with a picnic table and fire pit. These are reservable RV sites, limited to 1 RV and 2 tents.  Reserved Electric & Water is available for campers and RV’s of any size that want these amenities. Access to this area is not included with your festival pass.

mississippi camp - reserved non-electric

Mississippi Camp is a short walk to the main festival grounds without missing out on the scenic view of the Mississippi River. These are reservable RV sites, limited to 1 RV and 2 tents. There are no electric or water hookups in these sites, but you are allowed inverter generators. These spaces are limited to RVs over 24’. Access to Mississippi Camp is not included with your festival pass.

latsch camp - reserved non-electric

(new for 2023)

The Latsch Camp is a quiet nature-based experience with a series of trail systems for your enjoyment! These sites are the most affordable of the reserved sites and offer you plenty of space for your RV and up to 2 tents. The beautiful walk along the river or nature trails to the festival grounds is about 2500 ft. These sites are limited to 1 RV and 2 tents. RV’s will be placed in spots on arrival. These spaces are limited to RVs over 24’. A free shuttle will be running through the weekend to bring folks to and from the festival grounds.

$50 flat rate for the entire weekend

Why do I need to reserve space for my RV?

  • We want to ensure that each festival attendee has the space they need to have a fun, safe, stress-free experience 

  • Reserved RV space will give festival-goers the security of the perfect weekend home without the challenge of maneuvering larger vehicles into tiny spaces. This will also help provide more space for our tent camping attendees. 

How do I reserve a camping space for my RV?

  • All reserved space is booked through Prairie Island Campground. Click the links above once the reservations open March 1, 2023 to purchase space.

  • All RVs over 24’ must have a reserved camping pass

Can I reserve space if I have a tent or RV under 24’?

  • No, other than Reserved Electric & Water space, reserved camping is only for RVs over 24’.   

Where do I go if I am tenting or have a camper under 24’?

  • All tents, campers, etc. that are under 24’ will use General Admission camping 

  • General Admission camping is first-come-first-served and does not require a reservation

When can I check in for my reserved spot?

  • Festival camping opens Thursday at 9:00 AM for all festival attendees

  • If you purchased a Wednesday Camping Pass & reserved an RV space for Wednesday through Prairie Island Campground, you may check-in at 1:00 PM on the Wednesday of the festival 

    • If you are staying in General Admission, you will only need the Wednesday Camping Pass

Can I show up early (Monday/Tuesday)?

  • Reserved Water & Electric

    • Yes - if you have paid for additional days through Prairie Island Campground

  • Mississippi Camp - Reserved Non-Electric

  • If you want to come early to the festival (before Wednesday), you must book those spaces on January 1, 2023. All other reserved camping options with go on sale March 1, 2023

Where do I check-in when I arrive?

  • You can check in at the Prairie Island Campground Store located towards the south east entrance of the campground   

  • If you are in Latsch Camp - you can simply go to the Boats and Bluegrass ticketing office to get your festival ticket and your reserved RV pass at the same time

How do I find my space?

  • When you check-in, you will receive a map and a site number. From there, you will drive to the relevant reserved area (Water & Electric, Mississippi Camp, or Latsch Camp) and a staff member will help direct you to your campsite.

Will their be a shuttle running from Latsch camp?

  • Yes, we will have a free shuttle running through the entire weekend

  • Thursday: 4:00-10:00 PM

  • Friday/Saturday: Noon-10:00 PM

How close is the nearest bathroom?

  • Permanent & portable restrooms are spread generously throughout the festival and camping grounds 

  • Showers are available near the Prairie Island Campground Store located towards the south east entrance of the campground   

I want to camp with my friends - can we stay in one spot together? 

  • All reserved sites are allowed 1 RV and 2 tents per site

  • General Admission is first-come-first-served 

How many spaces can I reserve at one time? 

  • Space is limited, PLEASE only purchase what is necessary & remember that these sites are for RVs only. If you have friends or family that you want to camp with, you are allowed 2 tents per reserved site. 

  • You are allowed 1 space per RV. We have lots of folks that want to come out to the festival and we want to make sure we can provide a weekend getaway for anyone that wants to make the trip to Winona.

What spaces have fire pits?

  • Reserved Water & Electric spaces will have a private fire pit - all other spaces will have communal fire pits

  • You are welcome to bring your own above ground fire pit but you must keep your fire within reason as to not cause damage to the space 

  • For this weekend, we are all friends and family, please remember to share and be welcoming to others 

Can I rope off my own camping space? 

  • No - we do not allow guests to rope off additional camping space or “save” space for friends that have not yet arrived. 

  • We have lots of folks that want to come out to the festival and we want to make sure we can provide a weekend getaway for anyone that wants to make the trip to Winona

Can I use my generator? 

  • You may use an inverted generator but we ask that you be respectful of your neighbors and keep generator use to an absolute minimum and in use only during hours that will not disturb others
